Bad Winter for Older Boats
Last Tuesday, yet another vintage cruiser fell victim to the "freeze/thaw" roller coaster our weather pattern has been following. A 30 ft 1968, Trojan cruiser sank at the dock. She was recovered by our salvage partner "Atlantis Dive & Dock Salvage", Capt Tim McNitt and crew. Capt Dwayne Johnson is seen here shortening up the tow as he approaches the marina where the cruiser was hauled out by travel lift. I also had the first regular call of the season last Sunday. An entire family (including infant) were on their "first time out" cruise and ran out of fuel about 4 miles from my location. At about 9:30 p.m. they were the only ones out and the temp was dropping, they were very glad to get fuel and a lesson in economics - - - there are times when fuel prices at the dock are really cheap - - - - oh yeah, I'm still thinkin the glass is HALF FULL!!
