THE "COUNTDOWN" BEGINS - - -

The Labor day "exodus" has begun - - the unofficial end of the boating season has set upon us with little fanfare - the last summer holiday weekend has past, going out Labor Day morning with fog and cool temperatures.  This also begins a quick "countdown" for Laura and I, as we must now head back to the "Pumpkin Farm" to help prepare for the fall operations.  We will spend the next couple of days winding up things here and set out for the "funny farm".  The lake will quiet down and the "off season" boaters will get out and enjoy the fall colors and more calmer waters.  Captain's Jones, Johnson and Anderson will still be on hand to respond to calls from disabled boaters.  The OFFSHORE SUPER SERIES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS with state of the art racing boats will compete for National Championship September 25-27.   This  will result in a brief flurry of boating activity, followed again by quiet water.
