FIRST and LAST CASE of 2010 and FIRST of 2011

2010 was a very good year for us and we kicked it off early in the season (January 3, 2010) with a short recovery of a drift away IMP - See Blog post HERE (1ST CASE OF 2010)
1st Case of 2010, a 20 ft 1970's IMP Drift Away
We ended 2010 on the evening of the 31st of December with a call from the Water Patrol, advising us there was a 38ft Cigarette that appeared to have taken on water after it's lift had leaked down.  It was located less than a mile from our 11 m/m Port.  We located the vessel and met with the WP Officer who was able to locate the owner (in St Louis) and contacted him by phone.  The owner did not want us to take any major action at the time - - we advised him of certain scenarios and that the temperatures would be dropping in to the mid-teens that evening - - - -.  We secured the vessel as best we could and would await further instructions from owner in the next few days - - CASE CLOSED for 2010.
Partially flooded Cigarette, sits on lift which had leaked down
Strainer caps were off and seacocks open = water comes in -

Resting on lift and flooded almost up to the bilge pump
discharges.  Engines were under and had ingested water.
2011 - We kick off the new year on JANUARY 2nd by returning to our 1988 Cigarette 38 Top Gun, after owner had raised it on the lift, dewatered it on New Years Day and left it fully exposed to the freezing temps?? - we picked it up, towed it and trailered it out.  Transported it to shop and "pickled" the motors - - -
